Out of Season

Snow Scene at Maple Grove
"Preach the Word; be ready in season and out of season"
(2 Timothy 4:2).

The first few days of spring usher in warmer days and sunshine, budding trees and greener grasses.  It's always so tempting to put away the snow plow, shovels and buckets of salt.  But we don't want to be caught off guard.  Winter does not give up easily and usually makes an encore performance.

We don't want to be caught off guard when it comes to spreading God's Word either.  The stresses and pressures of daily living and worldly temptations can distract us so that we lose sight of what's most important--giving God glory and sharing His message and His love with other people.  He is always with us to strengthen our faith and give us what we need to carry out His mission.

"He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning" (Daniel 2:21).
